15LMD Batticaloa

This property dates back to Dutch administrators who lived here from the late 17th century as seen by some of the ironmongery on the original doors and windows. The house comprises two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom, and a family suite with an attached bathroom. There has been minimal intervention to the building with only the conversion of two spaces to bathrooms.

The verandah is the pièce de résistance of the building as the raised floor provides and uninterrupted view of the lagoon and the Dutch fort, the first in Sri Lanka.
