Today, on the International Day for Biological Diversity, we are proud to share the progress of our ecological restoration work at Mannankulam Estate — our agricultural property on the east coast of Sri Lanka.
Over the past few years, we’ve focused on regenerating natural ecosystems alongside sustainable land use. As a result, the land now supports:
• Over 240 plant species
• 60 bird species
• 36 butterfly species
Some of these are classified as threatened on the IUCN Red List, highlighting the importance of preserving and restoring habitat.
From native orchids to tortoises, every returning species is a sign of nature’s resilience. Our journey at Mannankulam reaffirms that agriculture and biodiversity can coexist — and even support each other.
