Food Experience
The cuisine in the east coast reflects its multiculturalism. Amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the east coast, its people continue to cherish and preserve age-old recipes, found nowhere else on the island. Traditionally, the formal meals are served one course at a time starting with fried fish or vegetables, followed by leafy greens and moving on to a mix of mild and richly spiced curries cooked in coconut milk and finally something sweet so that all six flavours are in balance.
The cuisine here is a celebration of aromatic spices, fresh seafood, and tropical ingredients. Seafood and vegetables take centre stage in many east coast dishes, and at Mannankulam, we offer a taste of authentic eastern cuisine made from old traditional family recipes. Among some of the dishes we are proud to serve include organically grown heirloom vegetables and rice and many of the ingredients are grown in our organic vegetable garden.
