Day 1

Arrive at 3:00 PM and enjoy refreshments on the verandah. Begin historical exploration at the Dutch Fort, climbing the ramparts for panoramic views of Batticaloa’s lagoon and colonial history. Engage in a cultural walk through the bustling bazaar, trying traditional snacks, and visit St. Mary’s Church, a mid-17th century Portuguese establishment. Learn about a sufi saint at the nearby memorial. At 6:00 PM, unwind with drinks on the verandah, enjoying local snacks and sharing travel stories. Conclude the day with a traditional Batticaloa dinner at 7:30/8:00 PM, savoring local flavors.

Day 2

Start your day at 7:00 AM with tea on the verandah, watching fishermen with their catch. Enjoy breakfast at 8:00 AM, followed by a visit to the beach and market at 9:00 AM for fresh fruits and vegetables. At 11:00 AM, relax on the verandah or visit the Kattankudy Heritage Museum, or join Malar for a cooking lesson on Batticaloa curry. Lunch is at 1:00 PM.
